The Internet has a voracious appetite for written materials. Articles, advertisements, eBooks, whatever can be used to fill up space and provide unique content for websites. The demand for usable written materials is constantly outrunning the available supply. There is good opportunity to make money writing here!

The demand is more for quantity than quality. Almost no one is looking for best-selling, Pulitzer Prize winning material. They just want clear readable text. They want it in large quantities and they want it NOW! If you can write in English at the middle school level (6th to 9th grade) then you can make money writing online.

You won't need to attend any writing classes, but you might want to take advantage of one of the free typing courses offered on the Net. Type faster, produce more text, make more money writing articles, ads, books online!

You see, the way people find things on the Net is through search engines. You go to Google or Yahoo or whatever search engine, type in what you are looking for and press enter. Bingo! Pages and pages of listings pertaining to the subject you typed in pop up! Generally 10 per page, plus any number of paid ads.

If you are selling anything on the Net, then you want to be on the first page that appears when someone searches for it. It's a make or break proposition. If your website shows up on the first page, buyers will see it, click on it, come to your website and buy! If you are on page 7, chances are no one will see you there...

To get on the first page, for whatever subject, you must convince the search engines that your site is A. relevant and B. important. You prove relevancy by keywords, words pertaining to the subject, showing up often on your website.

You prove importance by the number of backlinks (other websites, especially websites relevant to the keywords) that connect to your site and by the number of pages indexed on the website.

The "pages indexed" is the number of pages on your website with (relevant) content, indexed by the search engines.  Sure, there are pictures, graphs, etc., but for the most part these pages contain unique text.  Text published here only (or first) that establishes your site as important.

Webmasters are desperate to find unique more-or-less relevant content to fill up their pages. This will let them get more pages indexed by the search engines, establish their importance. This, in turn, will gain for them a ranking position towards the front of the line, where the BUYERS are!

Content has to be unique and there is no way to get around that. The Internet is computer based, every website can be visited, text can be compared word by word over millions of websites in seconds. Duplicate or near duplicates stand out like blinking lights. The first appearance gets credit, all the rest no.

So far, the only way to generate unique, readable, coherent text is for human writers to write it. Therein lies the opportunity! At 3 to 5 cents per word a 400 word article is worth $12 to $20. With a little practice most people can generate a 400 word article in half an hour. You do the math...
